The DYC Difference
Dynamic Youth Community (DYC) is a nonprofit organization offering comprehensive substance use disorder treatment for adolescents, young adults and adults across New York. DYC is certified and funded by the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). Since 1970, we’ve combined clinical expertise, education and peer support to help individuals and families build healthier, more fulfilling lives.
We believe recovery thrives in a structured, compassionate environment — one that teaches accountability, emotional resilience and hope.

Our Story: A Legacy of Care
Dynamic Youth Community began with a single goal: to give young people facing the disease of addiction a chance to build a bright future.
Founded in 1970 in Brooklyn, Dynamic Youth Community (DYC) was created to provide substance use counseling services specifically for adolescents and young adults at a time when no such programs existed. Grounded in the philosophy of the therapeutic community, DYC filled a critical gap by offering developmentally appropriate treatment that recognized the unique needs, challenges, and potential of young people. Over the next five decades, DYC has grown into one of New York’s most trusted providers of adolescent and young adult addiction treatment, known for pairing structure with compassion.
Today, DYC operates two campuses—Brooklyn and Fallsburg, NY —offering a full continuum of care that includes residential, outpatient, educational and family programs. While our services have expanded to support adults as well, our heart remains the same: empowering young people and their families to achieve lasting recovery and brighter futures.
