DYC's Community Outreach
Partnering with schools, families and community organizations to prevent substance misuse and promote awareness.
Education and Awareness
Through Speaking Engagements
Dynamic Youth Community’s Outreach Coordinator, Jack Kirby, works directly with schools, PTAs and community leaders to bring essential information and real stories of recovery to audiences across New York.
Our free speaking engagements help educate students, parents and professionals about:
- The dangers of drug and alcohol misuse, including prescription medications.
- Early warning signs and prevention strategies.
- How to access support and treatment resources.
Each presentation is tailored to the audience and includes perspectives from DYC members or families who share their personal experiences with addiction and recovery.

Narcan & Overdose
Prevention Trainings
DYC offers Narcan (Naloxone) training for schools, healthcare providers and community organizations. These sessions teach participants how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, administer Narcan safely and respond appropriately in the moments that follow.
Each training includes:
- Step-by-step Narcan administration instruction.
- Information about New York State Good Samaritan Laws.
- Practical follow-up procedures after overdose reversal.
- Access to local resources for ongoing support.
Informational Sessions
For Community Partners
We also provide informational sessions to help schools, hospitals, social service agencies and other organizations learn more about DYC’s treatment programs and admission process.
These sessions offer:
- An overview of DYC's residential, outpatient and family programs.
- Guidance on identifying individuals who may benefit from treatment.
- Information about referral procedures and community collaboration opportunities.
Testimonials
Healing happens here.
“To my son,
You walked through fire
With burning desire
Made peace with your past
And friendships that will last
Now you are free
There’s a whole world to see
For every lock – You hold the key
Your head is clear
You have nothing to fear
Don’t worry, I’ll always be near
Love Always, Mom”
“Before walking through the doors of DYC, I was a lost soul. A shell of a human being with no sense of purpose in life. I was drained of all hope. Months later, I can confidently say I’ve never been happier. My heart is filled with love and my thoughts have never been sharper. DYC brought me back to life. I’ll forever be grateful for this beautiful organization.”
“Growing up, I had so many dreams and so much potential for the future. Just as I thought I was going to lose all that, I came into DYC and now I have the opportunity to achieve all these goals and to put all that potential to use.”
“After many years of pain and suffering, I was fed up. I lost everything and everyone I loved. I knew a change needed to happen, but I didn’t know where to start. Unfortunately, my friend passed away from an overdose and a family friend recommended me and another one of my friends to Dynamite during the funeral. We immediately jumped on the opportunity and thankfully years later I’m still here: alive, healthy and sober. I can’t explain how happy I am and thankful for Dynamite.”
“Prior to Dynamite, I was broken. I had zero direction and my life had lost meaning. I was in an endless cycle of misery. Dynamite lent me a helping hand and I have never looked back. My gratitude to them is immense.”
“DYC has given me a new life and a better relationship with myself, my friends and family. I felt like a lost cause most of my life, hopeless and damaged. I never could have imagined the staff could have given me so much love and care. I was brought back to the person I lost, the joy I had for the world returned, as well as hopes and dreams for the future.”
